Meet Rachel

I am passionate about partnering with powerful leaders as they journey through the life changing transition of becoming mothers. I support them as they embrace their work and home-life responsibilities with courage, consciousness, and purpose. 

I am a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) with the Coaches Training Institute (CTI). I have had the privilege of working with the NHS as a Midwife and subsequently as a Coach/ Facilitator. I have worked with many leaders across a variety of organisational settings.

Having operated within regulated professions throughout my career it is important to me that the quality of coaching I deliver be of the highest standard. CTI is Accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) who set a high bar for coaching and ethics around the world.

My Story

I have always been motivated to support others to thrive and to live a life that is meaningful and aligned with their values.  I care about business impact on wider communities, and I have worked with people from all walks of life and backgrounds. 

I have partnered in excess of 1000 women in their transformative journey of pregnancy, birth and motherhood.  I understand how challenging it can be both to leave and return to work, whilst also engaging in the act of giving birth to and nurturing a newborn.

I have witnessed both the commonality and uniqueness of womens' experience in becoming mothers. How they navigate its impact on their identity, priorities and confidence - manifesting in the spheres of both their work life and home life. My skill as a professional coach equips me to have the kind of conversations that get to the heart of the matter and create the possibility for transformational insight, new choices and growth.

I engage with both the explicit and often hidden challenges of becoming a mother whilst also working and leading a business or team.  I am passionate about providing effective timely support to these leaders so that they are equipped to bring their most resourced, confident and resilient self to each context. It makes for happier mums, more peaceful babies and better businesses - all of which are worth their weight in gold!

My unique mix of maternity expertise, presence and transformational coaching / facilitation skills enables me to be a powerful support partner to leaders becoming mothers.  I value honesty, courage and vulnerability. In that spirit I work in partnership with and in service of what is most important to the organisations and individuals I support. The services I provide encompass the entirety of the maternity journey, supporting leaders through the transitions of pregnancy, going on maternity leave and returning to the workplace.

The packages I design are bespoke / tailored to the individual needs and wants of the women and organisation. This includes 1-to-1 coaching, 3 way support and group facilitation.

1-to-1 Coaching 

I do this by connecting with each leader and supporting them through the entirety of their maternity journey to adapt to motherhood whilst enabling professional and personal growth.

3-Way Support

I offer 3-way support to Line managers to promote communication, partnership and facilitate a smooth handover of responsibilities, processes and tasks.  By doing this in a considered way it allows the maternity period to be as purposeful as possible and facilitates a highly conscious return to the workplace.

Group Facilitation
The shared context of motherhood also offers a unique opportunity for connection and support across the organisation. I therefore also offer facilitated Listening and Sharing groups. This opportunity supports the networking of mothers within the business and the breaking down of barriers and silos across the organisation.

Becoming a mother is a life-changing event and brings with it enormous learning and transformation. 

 

I work with inspirited, powerful, and creative women, who are at various points along their path of pregnancy and motherhood. My purpose is to be alongside you and partner you in this transition. I’ll help you to navigate each stage of this journey with confidence, resilience, and purpose.

 

I tailor my approach to each individual, acknowledging that each journey is sacred and distinct. My coaching approach honours the unique skills and values you already have as well as those which you will develop through the experience of birth and motherhood. 

Ways I Partner You

During Pregnancy

I support women to transition from the working space and prepare for birth with confidence and courage. Together we identify and develop tools, mantras, and techniques that will keep you grounded during your experience of birth - however that unfolds. 

After Birth

I support mothers as they adjust to the intensity and challenge of caring for a newborn 24/7.  I facilitate reflections on the experience of birth and support an integration of the learning and experiences gained. Our work together will cultivate resilience, build confidence, relieve the stress of “mum guilt” and support to establish appropriate boundaries. We will work to consciously strengthen your connection to your essence as you redefine your priorities and identity within this new context. 

Returning to Employment

I support you to align with your values and purposes as you as you navigate issues such as childcare, finances and returning to paid work. Coaching in this period typically addresses issues of boundary setting, empowering conversations, and managing priorities, acknowledging limitations and building confidence. We will work to enhance your ability to make authentic clear choices as you engage with these important contexts of your life. 

My Process

     The process begins with a detailed reflective questionnaire that will promote self-reflection and help you identify main areas of focus for our work together. It supports me to know you more and identify some of your values.

     Our first discovery session together will be for 2 hours. It will build on the work you will have provided in the questionnaire and lay the foundations of how we will work together over the course of our engagement.

     The coaching sessions thereafter will be 1 hour. We will agree together how often we will meet and for how long, as well as our objectives.

     Held within the broad agenda of the objectives of our engagement, you will be invited to focus on what is important to you in each individual session. Together we will creatively engage with these topics for the purpose of deep learning and forward movement towards your goals.

     When we come to the end of our work together, we will have a completion session of 1 hour to reflect on and integrate the learnings from the whole of this period.
